{She Said} Wisdom I Would Like to Impart on Students

If you lose something- go look for it. Don’t just expect it to come walking back into your life by itself (being that it doesn't usually walk at all). Retrace your steps and why don’t you give “Lost-and-Found” a try.

Reading does not constitute studying. If it did, we wouldn’t have a separate word for it.

When you find yourself in class without a pen or paper, sitting and doing nothing is not an acceptable solution.

During my 45 minute class period, what I have to say to you ALWAYS trumps in importance to what your friend has to say to you.

Take instructions seriously- you never know if you are going to get them again and your grade depends on it.

If you are having trouble figuring out an answer, you are learning something. Congratulations- keep it up.

Keeping track of homework isn’t as complicated as you think it is.

If you don’t put your name on your taxes, they will find you and make you pay regardless- I’m not that diligent. I will just let you receive a zero.

When you don’t do your work, it isn’t as if it never existed- it counts as a ZERO, not a non-grade. It’s not that you just haven’t had the opportunity to prove your knowledge, it’s that you are proving that you have none.

Questions will arise. Try to figure it out yourself before bothering me with it. This will improve our relationship tremendously.
