I recently read an interview with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) where he revealed that he, while filming the 6th film, developed a drinking problem and before it got out of control, chose to start living a sober lifestyle. He says in the interview that there is no shame in enjoying a quiet life.
First off, I do believe that is code for "don't judge me for being a loser." But he goes on to address that fact by stating that he would love to have a party lifestyle but it just doesn't work for him. I love it. That lifestyle doesn't work for me either.
I am constantly having conversations with friends, family members, acquaintances, strangers, etc where they give me some rediculous run down of how they are busy every night and or weekend with social engagements, classes, outings, and other interesting things only to have the conversation end with my turn to share about my exciting life- well, I'm going to stay home and watch TV. Oh yea- that's it. I usually follow up with either a sheepish look or a look that dares them to judge me but my goodness, I am judging them just a bit for being just as crazy as I am lazy. Take a break. For pete's sake, enjoy the sitting side of life. There's no shame in it- the wizard says so and, not to spoil it for you or anything, he defeats the one that can not be named.
