It’s that time of year in the Gilpin class of Texas History… time to study the Texas Revolution.
Last week we were having a discussion about the Mexican vs the Texan point-of-view in different events leading to the Texas Revolution.
At one point, during the discussion concerning the clash at Anahuac, a student defended the Texan point-of-view by stating that Travis was just doing his job as a lawyer when he tricked the guards into releasing the slaves because that’s what lawyers do, they trick people… it’s their job.
