{She Said} Visiting Family in Missouri

We started our Spring Break relatively low key. We had some family time at home and some time running errands. We got to the point that we slept in a bit (Zach is kind of an Up-With-The-Sun baby) and enjoyed the freedom to stay up a bit later (read 9:00!).

On Wednesday, we loaded up and headed to the airport! We spent the rest of the week visiting with my family in Kansas City, Missouri. We love them.

We were well fed and entertained with good conversation and baby play time. This family is full of love and I am so happy that they share that with Zach now as well! I hope to keep those relationships strong as we all grow older and undeniably busier.

Some highlights of the trip included…
  • A guys trip to a hockey game.
  • Some time as the park by Bass Pro Shop (a teaser for Matt)
  • Aunt Caryl making Zach’s 1st birthday party shirt
  • Zach playing with Leisel (2 weeks older) and Bella (3 months younger).
  • Mommy bonding time with Sue and Jami
  • Craft planning with Becky and Aunt Caryl

Thinking about walking at the hotel.
Ava (playing with mommy's camera), Bella (taking it all in), and Zach (playing with a water bottle). I'm pretty sure Ava and Bella here are both thinking, "you do know that's not what that's for, right?"
Aunt Caryl, ie Super Grandma... reading instructions for a sewing maching while entertaining a child on her knee and monitoring babies sitting on floor beside her.

Zach and Leisel

First slide experience
Cousin Ava rock climbing... Zach was looking on longingly
I like to think this aided his sense of independence by making him feel he was doing it himself
Now, he feels like he is flying.

Thanks to alumni, Dad and Becky, Zach came home with some gear...

Needless to say, we were spent when we got home...

I didn't know you have family in KC! We just moved from there about a year ago and we come back often. Maybe sometime our trips would coordinate and we could meet up!
