Date with Z to Oz

Buddy Anna was a munchkin in the high school production of The Wizard of Oz so the Z Man and I went on a mom-son date to go see it! 

It was pouring down rain. When I opened the door and Z saw this, he said, "we should wear our rain boots." So we did. Glad we did. When we got there, we sloshed through the rain and then trucked through the school soaking wet. It was quite an adventure. 

Z was especially enamored with the Wicked Witch of the West. Of course. 

The show was kind of late so we left at intermission. To leave, you walk through the drama hall at the high school and so we ran into a lot of the actors in character. Zach got to meet some munchkins, jitter bugs, the Scarecrow, and the Wicked Witch.  A lot of these were former students and a lot of them got down on Zach's level and talked to him about the show and then would say something to the effect of, "you know, your mommy was my teacher a few years ago and she's the BEST." And Zach would say, "yea, she's the best." And I teared up. It was kind of a full circle moment for me.
