We started the Christmas week off with a party with close family friends. While it started out disastrous, this quickly became an especially magical night for everyone in our family. Disastrous because halfway to Dallas, I realized I had left my food contribution at home so we had to turn around to go get it. This made us especially late and that makes me especially anxious. But then the magic happened...
Santa came and gave Zach a blue car with a steering wheel (this is something he has been asking for when seeing other Santas).
We got to spend time with some very beloved friends... most of these friends are my parents' age and watching them love on my kiddos was very moving for me.
The next day, Monday, Becky and Ryan took Zach to ICE! And Zach got to pick out special presents for each of us... for Nate, a football. For me, an angel ornament. And for Matt... a pretty, glittery cardinal ornament (which Zach was evidently adamant about getting him).
Tuesday, we had Christmas with the Purdy family.
We had brunch and then opened gifts... and played with gifts.
The boys played some video games...
We had dinner complete with poppers, crowns, and games...
And then we had dessert and watched a kids Christmas movie with Zach...Bright and early (5 A.M.) the morning after Christmas, we made the pilgrimage to Brenham for the Gilpin family Christmas!
Zach got presents out of the stocking Matt used as a little boy...
Zach was the present runner... and he took that job VERY seriously...
