{She Said} Halloween Festivities 2013

Our family costume theme this year was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Zach has quite a fondness for Mickey Mouse so it just seemed fitting.

The season was full of pumpkin patches, the fair, parties, crafts, and all sorts of festive things.

The week before Halloween, we went over to Becky's for a party.
Then, on Halloween, Zach got to dress up for his party at school. I was a little worried about him trying to play in his puffed up Mickey costume, so I let Zach pick between his Ninja Turtle (costume-like) pajamas and Batman costume. He unequivocally chose Batman.
For the class party, Zach brought chips, popcorn, carrots, and M&Ms.

Halloween evening, we had a few friends over for festivities on the driveway. We love partying on our driveway. We had corndogs (half off at Sonic that day), curly fries, veggies, salad, puff corn, donuts, and hot apple cider. And lots and lots of candy.
So, role call was as follows (from left to right):
Matt- Donald
Zach- Mickey
Jen- Daisy
Baby Amelia- Figaro the Cat
Heather- Pluto
Anna- Minnie
Justin- Sneaky Pete
 Becky- Clarabelle Cow
We also had a Professor Von Drake and Goofy
Zach ate very little dinner but kept snatching donuts off the sweets table. It wasn't even like he was sneakin'... he would swipe one and then go show daddy what he had accomplished.
Anna was an amazing and enthusiastic candy-hander-outer. Zach, as usual, just did whatever Anna did.
We also had the ping pong table folded down, a ball pit, the mini-basketball hoop, and a TV playing Disney Channel's Halloween specials for entertainment.

As it started getting darker, we headed out to do some trick-or-treating of our own.
As the night was nearing an end, a fire truck rounded the corner. We thought it might be because of the number of people at a party down the street but no, the firemen drove the truck around the town, handing out glow necklaces to the kids. It was such a fun moment and cool thing for those guys to do! So happy to live in the community I do!
This is how Zach ended the night. Throwing a fit on the driveway- frustrated that all the fun was over.
