This year, Easter was just the perfect combination of activity and down time, spiritual and fun, social and family time. It was great. Zach is at a fun age for the types of activities that come with Easter time.
The first egg hunt we attended was at a friends house. When we first went out into the yard, I instructed Zach to head to the back where there weren't a lot of kids. He went for it and got a pretty good loot but tired of the activity quickly. This short attention span was not repeated in the future egg hunts after he realized that the eggs held treats for him- then he was all in.
The week before Easter, Z had a party at school fully equipped with an egg hunt and he tore it up. Matt attended the party to help and partake in the fun.
We went to a service offered on Saturday night to better accommodate Sunday morning moods and schedules and that worked out really well for all of us. I think we can better remember the reason for the season when things aren't quite as hectic and Saturday evening service definitely provided that for our little family.
On Easter morning, Z woke up early to a fun Easter basket and then mom and Becky joined us for a family egg hunt and Easter brunch. Here, Z got to be the center of attention so, of course, he thrived.
