And not just a little. A lot. Like baby coming in 6 weeks (ish) pregnant.
And this baby has not been blogged about once in the 8 months it's been in existence. And if you follow, you know that nothing has really been blogged about but I want to give this baby a moment so he knows, you know, and we remember HIS story... that's right, it's another boy.
Back, last June/ July, I made the difficult decision to resign from my beloved teaching position (7th grade Texas History) to stay home and manage my family's life. At the same time, Matt and I discussed whether we were open to having a third child. And we were. But let me be clear- I didn't really feel like I wanted to have another child. The young years are overwhelming to me and I didn't know if I was cut out to do it a third time with a third child. But let me be clear- I happily chose to be open to a third child because I felt like God had another one waiting for me and I have always been in awe at how God's plans work out better than my own. So, we were open to it. And BAM a couple weeks later, I wasn't feeling myself.
The opening scene of this pregnancy was different from the others because I was not expecting it. I hadn't been trying for it (you may or may not know/remember that it took us a full year to get pregnant with Nathan). So, rather than both Matt and I knowing when I should start showing signs and talking about whether I should test or not, it was my own little secret that I thought I was pregnant. I took the test in secret. I prepared to give Matt the news rather than him looking at the test and telling me I was pregnant. It was a fun difference with this little guy.
So, the day I tested positive, Zach, Nate and I went to the craft store and bought three shirts. We made Zach an "oldest" shirt, Nate a "middle" shirt, and me a "youngest" shirt (written across my belly). When Matt came home, Zach ran into see him holding the positive test (in a baggy) and showed Matt the shirt we had made that day. Matt didn't believe it. Literally. He asked me if it was the positive test from when I was pregnant with Nate.
This pregnancy has been rougher than my other two but really only because I am chasing the other two around and I don't have work to take my mind off of things. But it's been a joy, just like the other two.
We found out in September that it was another boy and had a simple gender reveal. As with last time, Matt found out what it was and set up the reveal. This time we spray painted a sign to reveal the gender. It was really fun. The boys couldn't believe it was another brother. Honestly, I really thought it was a girl too because there had been some slight differences in the early pregnancy. So another boy took a little bit of a mind shift for me. But I wasn't disappointed in the least. I really love having boys. I was made to have boys.
This guy seems to be running a little smaller than Nate and Zach did... which would be fine with this mama that has to birth him. We'll see- he still has some time to catch up. Everyone tells me I don't look very big for a third pregnancy, but I don't know how big they want me to look. I feel very large.
Back before Christmas, we decided on a name:
Wyatt Justin
The boys talk about Wyatt all the time and are very excited to meet him. It's very interesting to me how their minds accept this change in our family so seamlessly. We'll see what they think about having a baby around when the time comes.
So there you have it. Little Wyatt is due on March 23rd and seems to be a happy and healthy little growing man.
See you soon, bud!
