Matt told me a horrifying (hilarious) story the other day and since he has trouble fitting blogging into his busy day I am going to convey it here to you…
He was working in the garage on some odds and ends- getting things all cleaned up so he could start on some nursery projects. He had the garage door ajar just a bit. All of the sudden he started hearing this really loud screeching sound. He deduced that this was a bird but not just any bird- a huge bird. Word from the man is that the sun was blocked out by this bird’s overwhelming frame. Matt was evidently envisioning a condor or pterodactyl or something. Not wanting this attack bird to get in, he thought about closing the garage door but decided the bird would definitely be too big to fit under the door and decided it probably wouldn’t be a problem. As he was getting back to work it dawned on him that though the bird wouldn’t be able to fit in, the small animals such as cats and squirrels trying to escape the clutches of this horror bird would be able to run through the small opening. Matt decided he didn’t want those in the garage either so he finally, after much debate, shut the garage door completely. I don’t know about all those small mammals but never fear, Matt was safe from the gigantic fowl and due to his fast thinking we aren’t harboring any escapees in our garage. I can rest easy at night knowing that my husband has all bird threats (especially those from very large birds- ostriches, emus, and the like) firmly under control.
